A simple cleaning inquiry follow-up workflow

A cleaning inquiry needs a clear next step before it needs a complicated sales system. Start with what the customer wants cleaned, where the property is, when they need service, and how they want you to respond.

Collect enough to decide the next step

Ask for the cleaning service, service ZIP, preferred timing, and one contact method. A short notes field can capture the size or condition of the space. Ask for permission to respond about the request. Avoid collecting access codes or sensitive property instructions in an initial inquiry.

Separate fit from availability

A request may match your services and area while still needing a schedule check. Mark it for review instead of treating a submitted form as a confirmed appointment. If you need photos or a walkthrough before quoting, make that the next step rather than guessing a price.

Track the action you actually took

Use a short status sequence: New, Contacted, Booked, or Closed. After you call or email, update the request. A prepared reply can save writing time, but check the details and send it yourself. Close a request when the customer declines or the job is outside your scope.

Review the queue at a time you can maintain

Pick a routine that fits the business: for example, after the morning route and before finishing the day. Tell customers what response timing you can support. An inbox is useful only if someone checks it; a cloud form does not create staffed coverage.

Where Relay fits

Relay Lead Desk gives you an inquiry link, service and ZIP checks, reply drafts, and a manual status inbox. It does not send replies, answer calls, or promise cleaning bookings. The current founding evaluation is free; the opt-in Starter subscription is $39/month. Optional $99 setup requires a website compatibility and scope review before payment.
